Each cabinet is centred by an arched glazed door, framed with intricate gilt mouldings and opening to reveal an interior shelf, ideal for display. The friezes and panels are finely embellished with scrolling foliate and arabesque decoration, characteristic of the Boulle tradition, while the corners are adorned with finely cast gilt caryatid mounts. The cabinets are raised on shaped plinth bases, further enriched with gilt detailing, giving the pair a strong architectural presence.
