Circa 1890. An exhibition quality late Victorian mahogany wall mounted wall cabinet, the top with a moulded cornice, the arched glass door is hinged, inside the back is lined in green velvet with small brass hooks positioned for hanging medals and or collectable items, the door has a small working lock, with gilded brass hinges, beneath the door is a concave section and a stylish moulded base. The top of the cabinet has a trade label for ‘John Taylor & Sons Edinburgh Ltd Cabinet Makers, Edinburgh’ and there are remnants of another trade label, the neat size cabinet has great colour and style.

Georgian Antiques was founded in 1978 by John Dixon's brother Padriac in a small shop at Jocks Lodge, Meadowbank in Edinburgh, with John joining the business after finishing college in 1981. The business grew so rapidly, they couldn't keep up with their inventory needs. Scotland's largest antiques warehouse is located in a converted whiskey bond in historic Leith Edinburgh.
