Circa 1870. A very rare and unusual Italian Sorrento Olivewood and inlaid
sofa table, the rectangular top with a large pictorial inlaid central panel, including a church with trees and garden, framed by foliate inlay, with broad banded with floral marquetry on an ebonized background with boxwood inlay on each side, the flaps with inlaid panels depicting rural scenes with similar inlay, the frieze with a pair of burr olive drawers with turned knob handles with similar faux drawers to the back, all flanked by small marquetry panels, all resting on four barley sugar legs resting on a pair of trestle ends with foliate carving on the knees and elegant feet, all braced by similar barley sugar tapering stretcher, in excellent condition, clean, stylish and functional.
