Circa 1910. An exhibition quality mahogany and inlaid folio cabinet by ‘Whytock & Reid of Edinburgh’, designed in the French taste the solid shaped top with beaded and cross banded fore-edge, he front with a pair of curved doors with French Rococo gilded handles, with Kingwood banding, beneath a pair of curved inlaid marquetry doors, which open to reveal two banks with pull out shaped folio trays each with a pair of pierced handgrips, the gables with panels in finest feathered mahogany, the fore-edges with inlaid panels, beneath the doors there is a shaped frieze that follows the forms of the doors, all resting on stylish Whytock & Reid Lorimer-style feet111 cm H x 147 cm W x 66 cm D

Georgian Antiques was founded in 1978 by John Dixon's brother Padriac in a small shop at Jocks Lodge, Meadowbank in Edinburgh, with John joining the business after finishing college in 1981. The business grew so rapidly, they couldn't keep up with their inventory needs. Their goal has been to create a one-stop-shop where designers can complete an entire project from antique lighting to antique furniture to accessories. Scotland's largest antiques warehouse is located in a converted whiskey bond in historic Leith Edinburgh. With 50,000sq ft over five floors we offer a wide range of quality Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian furniture, as well as continental and small decorative items. Our stock is constantly changing.
