Circa 1860. A mid-Victorian burr walnut inlaid and ormolu-mounted credenza of exhibition quality, the top in the finest burr walnut with a gilded beaded fore-edge, the frieze with foliate inlay with an ormolu-mounted circular jasper panel, the bottom with a pair of inlaid doors with large mounted oval jasper panel in each, with gilded mounts in the corners, foliate inlay and beadings, flanked by a pair of Corinthian columns with gilded capitals, fluted and gilded columns and stylish bases, the sides with a pair of curved and glazed doors, the base with stylish and gilded moulding, all resting on an enclosed walnut plinth which follows the form of the top.

Georgian Antiques was founded in 1978 by John Dixon's brother Padriac in a small shop at Jocks Lodge, Meadowbank in Edinburgh, with John joining the business after finishing college in 1981. Scotland's largest antiques warehouse is located in a converted whiskey bond in historic Leith Edinburgh. With 50,000sq ft over five floors we offer a wide range of quality Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian furniture, as well as continental and small decorative items. Our stock is constantly changing.
