Circa 1880. Attractive Flemish carved oak hallstand / hall bench. Surmounted by a foliate pediment, the hallstand with a central beveled mirror and chip-carved uprights with turned hat and coat hooks. The base with a seat and a glove drawer with a lion mask carved handle. The sides with shaped umbrella stands with original metal drip trays. All over a moulded base and neat turned feet. Georgian Antiques was founded in 1978 by John Dixon's brother Padriac in a small shop at Jocks Lodge, Meadowbank in Edinburgh, with John joining the business after finishing college in 1981. The business grew so rapidly, they couldn't keep up with their inventory needs.
