Circa 1870. Attractive French inlaid walnut ladies writing bureau. The top with an inlaid star, crossbanding and an ormolu (gilded brass) gallery above the parquetry inlaid flap with a decorative escutcheon, opening to an elaborate interior with stepped inlaid drawers with ormolu handles and chequered inlay. The serpentine-shaped base with two drawers with brass Rococo handles and elaborate escutcheons above a shaped skirt with ormolu mounts, over small cabriole supports with mounts. In excellent condition.
