Here’s a great example of an antique pine Secrétaire, also known as a bureau, dating from around the 1920s. It’s a lovely piece featuring elegant vertical columns running down each side of the drawers. The writing slope folds neatly up into the front, giving the piece a tidy, classic appearance when closed.

Below the writing section are four main drawers, all running smoothly. Inside, there are multiple smaller drawers, a central cubby hole, and even several cleverly concealed secret drawers. A couple of missing knobs on the internal drawers will be replaced.The writing slope currently sits at a slight angle, which can be adjusted to sit more level if preferred.
