shoolbred aesthetic oak hall stand

Aesthetic design oak hallstand by James Shoolbred. The hall stand is solid oak, signed and numbered,to the drawer and adorned with original mounts and copper fittings and decoration. English circa 1880. James Shoolbred was a family firm in Tottenham Court Road making and supplying furniture and furnishings. It was one of the first there in that speciality, others of course being Maples and Heals. Shoolbred gained a Royal Warrant in 1880 for the supply of furniture to Queen Victoria, This hall stand is of unique design, with carved detail, central mirror, original drip tray, standing on stylized feet.
The hall stand is an imposing piece of craftsmanship of the Victorian period and would suit a traditional or contemporary setting. Please refer to the pictures to appreciate the detail of craftsmanship. Examples of this company's work have fetched significant sums of money in the auction rooms and are quickly becoming highly collectable.
