Circa 1660, pair of French oak nuns or praying chairs. With peg joints throughout, a rectangular framed back and wavy pattern to the top of the base. The solid seats have been heavily repaired and the back legs are slightly outswept with a small apron between the front legs of one chair. The front legs are ring turned and united by sturdy stretchers.
