Circa 1880, mahogany demi lune side table with a flamed mahogany top. The solid top has a carved fore edge in the form of waves. Below this is a small beading that runs the whole way around. Below the beading is a wonderful carved and detailed frieze which combines oval flower heads with foliate carving between and a carved wave which continues along the entire frieze. The carving is relief and extends beyond the frieze itself. The table stands on 4 legs with similar oval fan carvings at the top, and the legs are tapered with fluting and reeding and finish on a stylish foot. Overall condition is excellent. Wonderful colour and good size.
