Circa 1900, Chinese dark wood plant stand with a pink variegated marble insert. With its petal shaped top, beaded fore-edge and beneath a shaped concave section with open fretwork. The apron around the top of the legs is flared and profusely carved. The fretwork continues down to the top quarter brackets of each of the legs. The stand stands on 4 elegant carved shaped legs with a primitive dragon head on the top and foliate carving down the front of the legs. There is a cruciform stretcher towards the bottom with quarter brackets and beneath this the legs continue down to finish on an animalistic foot.
