Beautiful 1922 Arts and Craft Oak Dresser/Bookcase
Exquisite, beautifully made dresser/bookcase 1922. Real craftsmanship has gone into the making of this dresser as can be seen by the dovetail joints and the sawtooth (bird's mouth) adjustable shelf supports and, what appears to be, handmade cleats. Sadly, the handles were replaced in the 1970's but this does not detract from the beauty of this piece. The cupboard opens to reveal a full width shelf while the bookcase has three shelves behind its glazed door. The dresser has its original locks, both on the cupboard and bookcase, both with working keys. Completed by two drawers this is truly a lovely, functional piece of furniture. It does have some damage to the top cornice, as shown in the photos. Easy to repair or left if you prefer the charm of the pieces history. There are a couple of other knocks which I've tried to show but they're really hard to see and photograph.
I really love this dresser and will be sorry to see it go. Please get in touch with any questions.
