This is an antique campaign correspondence box. An Indian, rosewood and Sadeli mosaic colonial writing case, dating to the Regency period, circa 1820.

• Select stocks show fine grain interest and deep caramel hues
• Sadeli micro mosaic accentuates the lid and interior

• Diamond motif to lid a treat of craftsmanship - Sadeli work uses tiny pieces of mosaic to form patterns
• A large expanse covers the lid interior, to striking effect
• Diamond lozenge with inset, brass lined lock — in working order, key present
• Superb brass drop handles with distinctive beaded circular backplates
