19th Century Cross-Banded & Line Inlaid Mahogany Sewing Table

A fine example from around the 1830s or 40s and in very good condition, with lovely, glowing colour throughout, figured mahogany top with cross-banded & line inlaid edges, the top hinged and with a leather-lined inside surface, opening to reveal a plain storage compartment beneath, over a line inlaid frieze on slender, Gillows style reeded & tapering legs and with slide supporting a silk-clad hanging bin, this lovely sewing table will charm in the most elegant of homes, fully-deserving of the envious attention it will undoubtedly attract.

    Top Width 47.75cm x Depth 37.75cm (18.75" x 15") & Height 74.5cm (29.25")

NB: The dimensions were measured in centimetres and converted to the approximate equivalent in inches.

This piece dates from around 1830-50, so you may expect the mature character & patina of age, together with wear & tear commensurate with normal use and including some old repairs but, otherwise, it's in very good, clean & sound condition and is ready to use in your home.
