very interesting early 19th century miniature portrait painting & silhouette of irish & english historical interest

A superb early 19th century silhouette painting together with a reverse painted silhouette.This miniature painting and silhouette are believed to be the same lady having been removed from the same estate depicting Henrietta (Minchin) Champneys 1751 - 1827.Henrietta moved from Ireland to Hampshire, England with her family in about 1765, where they lived at Soberton. Henrietta was about 50 years of age when she and widower Sir Thomas Champneys 1st Baronet (the son of Richard Champneys and Jane Swymmer) obtained a Marriage License on 10th December 1801. In 1827 Henrietta Champneys passed away on the 4th January in Bath, Somerset. She was buried on the 13th of January 1827 at St. Peter and St. Paul Churchyard, Exton, City of Winchester, Hampshire.The painting housed in a gilt frame is in excellent condition, it is still sealed and I have personally decided to leave it this way however there is some dust behind the glass.The reverse painted silhouette is in poorer condition. The glass is lose and frame chipped.It is extremely important these paintings stay together in my opinion. Separating them would tarnish the historical value and would be morally wrong.Overall together these paintings are a very interesting surviving piece of Irish and English history that deserve a caring new home.Portrait size: 6cm x 5cm
