This 19th Century Coromandel vanity box is of fine quality offered in outstanding original condition.It is clear the previous owners have taken great care over this box.The exterior still retains a high level of gloss which makes the deep Coromandel grain pop. There are very little signs of damage to the exterior.Under close inspection a small knock can be seen to the rear left side resulting in a thin horizontal veneer crack. There are also some surface marks to the lid and what appears to be very subtle colour fading to the left and right side, possibly from handling. Please see last two images for these "Imperfections". The interior is extremely clean and original. There is a pull out tray which reveals a lower compartment. Pressing a button located between the hinges reveals a hidden pull out tray. Two glass bottles are also included.The provided key with tassel is not the original key and is only included for decoration. This key does NOT activate the lock, using this key may damage the lock.With Queen Victoria's unapologetic love for Coromandel wood this box would have been an in demand statement of wealth for the original victorian owner.Depth: 22m
