An EPNS mounted table decoration with a centre piece of cow horn. The top is capped and surmounted with what appears to be a Cavalier playing a musical instrument. Beneath this there is a circular top with various patterns and designs. The horn is held in place in the centre by a wraparound plaque with various engravings including what appears to be a date 1813 and 593. Although this date indicates 1813 the piece is later, perhaps circa 1900. At the bottom of this there is a cast face almost of a mythical goat God. The whole piece stands on a circular bezel with stylish decoration and finishes flush. Unusual and stylish decoration.

Georgian Antiques was founded in 1978 by John Dixon's brother Padriac in a small shop at Jocks Lodge, Meadowbank in Edinburgh, with John joining the business after finishing college in 1981. The business grew so rapidly, they couldn't keep up with their inventory needs. Their goal has been to create a one-stop-shop where designers can complete an entire project from antique lighting to antique furniture to accessories. Scotland's largest antiques warehouse is located in a converted whiskey bond in historic Leith Edinburgh. With 50,000sq ft over five floors we offer a wide range of quality Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian furniture, as well as continental and small decorative items. Our stock is constantly changing.
