the antique 1916 'mother' hairwork mourning ring

This wonderful antique mourning ring features a shield-shaped head with the word 'MOTHER', complete with an intricately braided hair work band and metal panelling spanning the band, spelling ' IN MEMORY OF'.
This ring is fully hallmarked by the Assay Office of Chester for 9ct gold in 1916. It is in good condition with marks commensurate with age. There is some light wear to the hairwork due to the open design of the band of this ring, commensurate with age.
