This stunning ring, circa the 15th to 16th century, features a table-cut rock crystal, with crisp, beautiful facets. The stone is in incredible condition for its age, remaining clear and relatively unmarked. This rock crystal stone is set in high-carat yellow gold in a deep setting, embellished with pale bluish-green enamel. The bezel is decorated with four semi-rectangular recesses along the longer sides and three across the shorter sides, filled with the same bluish-green enamel, the design reminiscent of a cloister with rounded, open walkways. The back of the head shows a closed setting with a flourish of remaining enamel, and the shoulders of the ring are ridged, housing more beautifully worn enamel, leading to a plain yellow gold band.
