antique longcase clock fully refurbished

Very nice looking antique eight day longcase clock which strikes each hour on a cast bell. Circa 1770. The lovely well made case is a lovely colour made of oak with the long narrow shaped top trunk door, with mahogany banding there is a lot of other mahogany on this clock to add to its appearance including the turned and fluted columns to the hood and trunk. The hood with a nice black painted background panel with gold scroll work painted on is a nice feature with nice turned and fluted mahogany columns under a nice flat top. The clock standing 79.5 inches high with a width of 22 inches at the widest part this is the cornice on the hood and the trunk width only 15.5 inches make this a very elegant looking clock. The 8 day movement and dial has recently had a full strip down cleaned and oiled and new gut lines the center date in good working order the case been restored to bring it back to its former glory. All is in good working order and ready to display in the home and requires no further restoration . The fantastic 13inch square dial with silvered chapter ring and engraved silvered chapter ring with rare center Calender with Thos Mofs of Frodsham ( Thomas Moss lived in a cottage on Main Street Frodsham until 1780 when he sold it to the Seddon brothers ) engraved on it together with nice period hands. Complete with 2 weights pendulum and winding crank key. All in all a lovely period Longcase clock which would grace any home. Please study the photos as these form part of the description.
