antique english sterling silver & copeland spode porcelain centrepiece – birmingham 1901, cherub figure

Exceptional antique English centrepiece combining solid sterling silver and fine Copeland Spode porcelain, created in Birmingham in 1901.

This highly decorative piece features a beautifully modelled porcelain cherub figure, mounted on an elegant silver structure with a shell-shaped bowl and naturalistic branch-form support. The harmonious combination of sculpture and silverwork creates a striking visual composition, typical of high-quality late Victorian and Edwardian decorative art.

The silver elements are fully hallmarked for Birmingham 1901 and bear the maker’s mark of Heath & Middleton, a respected English silversmith firm. The porcelain figure is marked Copeland Spode / Spode Copeland’s China England, dating to the late 19th century period.

With approximately 570 grams of sterling silver and substantial overall presence, this is a serious collector’s piece, combining artistic craftsmanship, material value, and strong decorative appeal.

The centrepiece remains in excellent antique condition, with no cracks, repairs, or structural damage. Both the silver and porcelain components are well preserved, displaying only light, age-appropriate surface wear.

    Dimensions: approximately 34 × 32 × 22 cm.

A rare and impressive example of English decorative silver and porcelain, ideal for collectors, prestigious interiors, and discerning buyers seeking a high-end statement piece.
