wedgwood white ware dessert dish, c.1815

A Wedgwood cream coloured earthenware dessert dish. Known as white ware and hand-painted with borders of flowers and leaves in bright enamel colours, these pieces were produced at Wedgwood's Etruria factory around the first part of the nineteenth century. The present piece is similar with flowers and leaves of blue, red, white and green against a beige border. The base bears the impressed mark WEDGWOOD and the numeral, 2, also the hand-written pattern number, 1413, in black. In excellent, original, sound condition with no wear to the decoration.
