Circa 1800, unusual set of 6 George III oak dining chairs. The stylish backs have a deep top rail with carving and fluting, and a centre splat with a carved flower and foliate carving both sides, over a further shaped back stretcher which is curved, ribbed and reeded. The two uprights at the back are also ribbed and fluted. The chairs have drop in pads with needlepoint upholstery, above a lovely apron. All standing on turned elegant front legs, and rectangular tapering out swept back legs, united by a turned cross over stretcher with a square section in the centre. Original patination, good colour and very sturdy.
