The cabinetmaker would have selected fine mahogany, (that was not available at a timber merchant at the time as the best trees had been felled in the Georgian period) from redundant Georgian tables that had the most wonderful timber that could be used to construct the top of this wonderful mahogany dining table. The bases also have elements of period mahogany.
The table has 2 extension leaves, that sits on runners to make this an easy 10 seat diner. The table can be used with any combination you need to seat your dinner party.
This Regency style mahogany dining table provides wonderful dining space, also as it is of a good depth, this will allow you to dress the table fully.
A pair of gun barrel turned columns with quadruple legs sweeping of these, make the undercarriage look very elegant, while giving it a look of stature.
Each leg has lovely, moulded reeds that have the very smart cast brass toes with the matching reed above the castors. This feature is most uncommon.
This table uses the timbers colour, grain to great effect and would command a dining room, you would be bound to get many compliments of your superb choice, gaining great pleasure as you entertain your family and friends around it.
