Circa 1840, pair of William IV bedside cabinets (adapted). The rectangular tops have red leather tooled and gilded inserts and a carved gadrooned fore edge. Below this a large single panelled door with raised arched panel in the centre. One side opens to reveal two slides and the opposite side is a single shelf. The bottom of the door has a large carved panel that follows the same form as the top with gadroon carving. The cabinets stand on an enclosed plinth. Very unusual style, could be used in the bedroom or drawing room for lamp tables.
