lowestoft - sparrow-beak jug - c1757-1802 'two birds pattern'

A delightful Lowestoft Sparrow-beak Jug painted with the attractive "Two Birds" pattern.

It has Imari style trees and foliage in puce and blue with two rather naively drawn birds. The jug also has an attractive stylised band to the rim. It is very good condition with no cracks or restoration. It does however have a minor defect at base of the handle, and a minute chip on beak as shown in the photographs.
