Antique James Giles Pattern First Period Dr Wall Teapot

ON HOLD. I have for sale this very attractive Dr Wall first period Worcester teapot decorated by the renowned porcelain decorator James Giles in his London studios and has a stamp on the base for Dr Wall and is dated 1770 to 1780
The teapot is decorated in a fancy bird garden scene on each side with gilt surrounds along with insect scenes on and behind the spout with that also have gilt surrounds along with insect scenes behind the handle that have gilt surrounds.
The lid also has fancy bird garden scenes with gilt surrounds along with insect scenes and gilt surrounds and a gilt rim and green leaf decoration and a tiny orange pear shaped handle.
There is also gilt decoration to the handle and the spout as well as gilt rims to the base top and inner top of the teapot along with gilt rim to the tip of the spout.
Condition wise, it is on good enough but acceptable condition considering it's age. There is a slight bit of rubbing to the gilt and there is a nip to the inner part of the lid (see photo) along with some chips to the green leaf decoration on the lid. This is acceptable because when picking up the pear shaped lid, one realises its a pear shaped slippy lid and could have easily slipped out of ones hands over the years and has to be handled with extreme care.
As the teapot has some minor damage to the lid, I am pricing it at a negotiable £1850, and the reason for the high price is that is was decorated by James Giles. It also has a Dr Wall stamp on the base.
