Circa 1770, very stylish George III mahogany brass bound plate bucket. The top has a brass bezel and lifting handle. The sides are open and ribbed, and have an aperture at the front for putting the plates in. At a later stage a solid brass insert has been made so it can be used as a wine cooler or waste paper bin. There is a brass bezel around the base which is solid mahogany. Excellent colour and condition.
