Circa 1790, George III mahogany longcase clock by Hay Hamilton, Glasgow. The classic shaped horned top has a finial in centre and fluted columns with brass capitols. The face is a mixture of brass and silver dial with both Roman and Arabic numerals, and hand cut steel hands. There is a single door which is arched and glazed to access the face. Below the top are quarter columns on either side of the door which are fluted in the same form as the ones on the top, and a flamed mahogany and string inlaid door, all standing on bracket feet. The clock runs for eight days, and is sold with an overhauled movement and guaranteed working.

Georgian Antiques was founded in 1978 by John Dixon's brother Padriac in a small shop at Jocks Lodge, Meadowbank in Edinburgh, with John joining the business after finishing college in 1981. The business grew so rapidly, they couldn't keep up with their inventory needs. Their goal has been to create a one-stop-shop where designers can complete an entire project from antique lighting to antique furniture to accessories. Scotland's largest antiques warehouse is located in a converted whiskey bond in historic Leith Edinburgh. With 50,000sq ft over five floors we offer a wide range of quality Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian furniture, as well as continental and small decorative items. Our stock is constantly changing.
