    A Very Fine Quality French Sevres Hand Decorated Signed Ladies Jewlery Casket or Dresser Box of outstanding Museum Quality and quite generous proportions. The rectangular outline with canted lobed corners, mid to late Nineteenth Century. Signed lower right GILBERT

     
    The dome hinged lid with hand painted decoration of a scene of a Courting Couple dressed in Eighteenth Century Costumes in a formal garden reserved against a cobalt blue ground with lavish gilt borders within a lavish raised and tooled gilt surround. Three sides with panels of similar gilt decorations.
     
    Condition: Good condition with no losses and nice patination to gilding. Gilt mounts are left untouched, the insides superbly hand painted with Summer Flowers and Old Roses. This piece is marked as shown.
     
    Width: 7" (17.5cm). Depth: 4.75" (12cm). Height: 4" (10cm).
