    Antique Early 19th Century New Hall Teapot + Stand - Boy and Butterfly Pattern

    A delightful Early19th Century New Hall Porcealain Teapot, Cover and Matching Patterned Stand.

     
    It is decorated with the colourful Chinoiserie Boy and Butterfly pattern number 421.
     
    Circa 1795-1804
     
    The handle and spout are embellished with pink decoration. The lid of the teapot fits into a raised collar section. The finial to the lid is of a drawn up flower bud shape capped with pink vertical lines. New Hall made this finial hollow allowing the steam from the tea to escape. Most other manufacturers were using a separate hole off to one side of the finial.

    Condition - The teapot and stand are in very good condition and will display delightfully.There is a restored handle crack as shown but with no chips to the spout and with no chips or cracks to the base. There are black specs at the top of the handle and along the lower edge at the foot of the tea pot, tytpical of this period. Only minor rubbing to the enamels. Some glaze missing on the underside of the base of the Teapot A most attractive example.
