This is an antique dressing room armchair. An English, gilt finished elbow chair with silk cotton upholstery, dating to the Regency period, circa 1820.

• Superb elegance, with a wonderful upholstery and gilt finish
• Displays a desirable aged patina throughout, some light wear to textiles
• Striking frame presents great contrast between the ebonised and gilt finish
• Traditionally stuffed with a later, professional reupholstering

• Distinctive cameo back rest, the cresting rail adorned with a prominent scrolled motif
• Delightful beading accentuates the outer edge, framing the cushioned back
• Presented in light mint green, the silk cotton shimmers delicately in the light
• Ornate embroidered pattern detail in an appealing, muted gold thread

• Prominent arms host padded elbow rests in matching fabric
• Golden brocade trim to the outer edges complements the upholstery
• Canted knees with relief foliate detail, the lower apron with a repeat scroll moulding
• Raised upon a quartet of tapering legs, gadrooned and reeded over circular feet
