An exceptional pair of large tin-glazed earthenware vessels by Auguste Jean (1829-96), dating from the period 1863-75 and hand-decorated in a Classical Revival or Aesthetic manner, signed & monogrammed to the base...remarkable for the fact that they were clearly intended to be used for holding liquid, as evidenced by the circular outlets with cork stoppers.O/All.
