The very impressive armchair is strong & sturdy and is a genuine 19th Century period Chinese Armchair, dating to Circa 1880-1890.The piece has a profusely carved pierced rear back panel which depicts a fiery winding Dragon which is flanked at either side by a pair of conforming dragon / Lion handrails, both of which are holding a ball like object in their mouths.The generous proportioned serpentine shaped seat has a fret carved frieze which rises above a beautiful foliate carved apron, the whole of which terminates in 4 large sturdy carved inverted legs.Of Excellent aged colouration & patina, the Armchair is offered in overall beautiful original condition commensurate with age and are free from any damage or missing areas of carvings.There are a few minor scuffs to some of the leading edges of the chair frame but all in perfect keeping with a genuine piece of this age and mentioned purely for accuracy.
