For sale is an original Zsolnay bonbonniere in Japonism style from the interwar period, produced in Pécs, Hungary, between 1926 and 1928.

This elegant, three-legged round vessel with a removable lid is richly decorated with multi-layered coloured glazes. The lid features a finely detailed Japanese-inspired garden scene with peonies, blossoming branches, and singing birds, creating a poetic and highly decorative composition.

The decoration is based on a design by Júlia Zsolnay (Sikorskiné Zsolnay Júlia), one of the most important designers of the Zsolnay Manufactory. This clear attribution represents significant added value for collectors and makes the piece particularly desirable.

Such small-scale, technically demanding and artistically refined objects were difficult to produce and are increasingly rare on the market today.
