For sale is an original Zsolnay bonbonniere in Japonism style from the interwar period, produced in Pécs, Hungary, between 1926 and 1928.

This elegant, three-legged round vessel with a removable lid is richly decorated with multi-layered coloured glazes. The lid features a finely detailed Japanese-inspired garden scene with peonies, blossoming branches, and singing birds, creating a poetic and highly decorative composition.The decoration is based on a design by Júlia Zsolnay (Sikorskiné Zsolnay Júlia), one of the most important designers of the Zsolnay Manufactory.
