For sale is a very beautiful and decorative Zsolnay ceramic cachepot / planter from Pécs, produced in the early 20th century, most likely between 1910 and 1930.

This is a classic and highly collectible piece from one of Zsolnay’s strong historical periods, still clearly influenced by historicism and Art Nouveau aesthetics.

The elegant oval form is finished with a pierced rim, giving the object lightness and refined character. Particularly attractive are the sculptural side panels and the hand-painted floral decoration, delicately highlighted with gold outlines.

The painting is lively and harmonious rather than schematic, clearly reflecting genuine hand craftsmanship of the period.

The piece is made of glazed ceramic (not eosin).

On the base, the original Zsolnay Pécs factory mark with form number 1063 / 2 is present, allowing secure attribution and authenticity.
