Circa 1860, beautiful and substantial Victorian black and green variegated marble mantel clock with a large circular painted enamel face and double brass bezel, one on the outside and one on the inside where the face is set back. There is an escapement and 2 steel hands, and 2 winding holes again with brass bezels. Below the top is a large glazed section with bevelled edge glass and a brass bezel, brass and steel bi-metal hinges, and its Ellicott mechanism visible. The case is very stylish with roundels on either side, oval panels below the top and green variegated beading running on the front and side. Standing on a polished black marble plinth which is raised and stylised. Working condition and very stylish.

Georgian Antiques was founded in 1978 by John Dixon's brother Padriac in a small shop at Jocks Lodge, Meadowbank in Edinburgh, with John joining the business after finishing college in 1981. The business grew so rapidly, they couldn't keep up with their inventory needs. Their goal has been to create a one-stop-shop where designers can complete an entire project from antique lighting to antique furniture to accessories. Scotland's largest antiques warehouse is located in a converted whiskey bond in historic Leith Edinburgh. With 50,000sq ft over five floors we offer a wide range of quality Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian furniture, as well as continental and small decorative items. Our stock is constantly changing.
