Rare Worcester “Mother and Child” Blue and White Bowl, c.1780

A particularly fine and scarce example of the Worcester “Mother and Child” blue and white bowl, dating to circa 1780. Two variations of this pattern are known; the present piece features the rarer scene depicting a mother and child accompanied by a second female figure. The reverse is decorated with a complementary but distinct differing pattern.The bowl measures 12.3 cm in diameter and 6.2 cm in height, and bears the cross-hatch C mark to the base.
