Circa 1870. A Napolean III giltwood and gesso overmantel mirror, the bevel edge arched mirror within a scroll and foliate moulded frame surmounted by pierced cross torches with a floral wreath and foliate carving to the sides and extended scrolling, the entire frame with gilded beading, mouldings and foliate carving on the facing, the base centred by a criss-cross ribbon with extended carved uprights to the sides. The frame has great colour, patination and the mirror with deep hand beveling is in excellent condition.
