Circa 1880. An unusual stylish George III style mahogany Grandmother clock of diminutive dimensions, the horn top hood, with brass rondels and ribbed pilasters, the glazed door flanked by columns and the brass movement with Roman & Arabic numerals, spangles and fine decoration, the name on the base is ‘J. Smith, Macclesfield’ the bottom of the hood with dentil decoration and the frieze with blind fretwork, the elongated arched door with quarter fluted columns to the sides with a dragooning section beneath, the lower panel with flame mahogany, all supported on stylish carved bracket feet. The brass movement with a regulator movement on a drum runs for eight days. The clock has been serviced and comes with a 1-year guarantee.
