Circa 1920. A large circular wine coaster by ‘James Mein of Kelso’, the circular dish top with a small circular raised section in the center and a broad fore edge with rim beneath, the underside with three original brass and leather castors, the name ‘Mein Kelso ‘and number 3300 stamped into the wood with the faded ‘James Mein of Kelso’ label with canted corners. James Mein, Kelso 1784 – 1830. One of his major commissions included supplying furniture to Floors Castle, home to the Duke of Roxburgh.
