two rare bohemian glass salts (circa 1800 - 1830)

Rare and collectable pair of hand painted Bohemian glass salts, one is decorated to the base with a portrait of a man and the other a woman, and both are set within a cranberry coloured background with a gilded wreath.

The salts are made in thick scalloped cut clear glass with oval polished centres with bases that are polished flat. The inner rims of the oval are chip free and the outer edges show only minor chipping but otherwise are in good condition considering their age.
