A stunningly gorgeous mirrored pair of Royal Doulton Art Nouveau vases in the Secessionist style by Eliza Simmance c1903. The vases are of elongated balustre form with everted rim. Highly stylised tubelined floral and foliate design around the body - mirrored on the opposing vase to form the pair. The design clearly influenced by the Secessionist style emerging from Vienna and a rare find in Doulton's designs. Impressed Royal Doulton Lambeth mark used 1902-1922. Signed with Eliza Simmance's monogram (E within an S) together with assistant's monograms: F for Catherine Francis, f for L Francis and LB (unknown). The vases measure 39 cm in height.
These vases are in excellent original condition commensurate with age. No crazing, chips, cracks or restoration and with very minor signs of age. The "marks" to the underside of one vase appearing to be from original. Please see images as these form an important part of the description.
