Scotland
42 x 28 mm
This miniature text was published in Glasgow, Scotland by David Bryce and Son, 1896. The back cover is not attached and wear is evident around the cover edges. The title on the cover is gilt as are the page edges. The back cover has an interior pocket containing a magnifying glass, however, the glass is fused to the cover so difficult to remove.
Not only does it contain the expected scripture, which are intended to be read with a magnifying glass, but it also features illustrations of Bible people and scenes.
The printer, David Bryce, was a well-known publisher of miniatures, and his books were sold in the U.S.
This is judged to be one of the smallest complete bibles ever produced. It is printed on the very thinnest Oxford India Paper ever made.
This one is from 1896.
