A very lovely late Victorian gilt brass magnifying glass c1890. Quality construction with bi-convex lens securely held within a gilt brass bezel. Gilt brass and mother-of-pearl handle – with a beautiful iridescence. Focal length of lens is approximately 14 cm. Overall length of magnifying glass is 17.75 cm. Diameter of lens is 7.5 cm.
This magnifying lens is in very good condition commensurate with age. Surface age spots to the original gilt finish to the brass which we have chosen to leave to retain its antique character. Some rubbing to gilt on handle. No damage to the lens or mother-of-pearl handle. Please see images as these form an important part of the description.
