    georgian cast iron boot scraper

    This is a very attractive and nicely detailed Georgian or early Victorian cast iron Boot Scraper.
    The blade is removable for cleaning and it has 2 bolt fixing holes to the base.
    The anthemion motifs to the blade supports are neoclassical designs popular in late Georgia architecture.

     
    It is stamped Baldwin on the underside.
    Thomas Baldwin established a foundry in 1788 at Stourport Worcestershire and it continued throughout the 19th Century and early 20th Century as Baldwin, Son and Co.
