german ww ii 36 officers ss dagger

Sold from family collection, purchased over 30 years ago, been in storage for past 10 years.

A beautiful example of the German Officer / 3 year service type II chained model 36 SS dagger. Beautiful condition hand cut Ebany handle with some minor wear and tear marks, small ‘chip’ missing above enamelled runic SS insert and look like it’s been repaired to RH corner. Sharp and crisp solid nickel eagle and complete SS insert.Solid nickel cross-guard and pommel in great condition fitting the handle perfectly, both clearly marked internally ‘PA’Blade has some small areas of age pitting. The acid etched "Meine Ehre heisst Treue" is sharp. The tip looks perfect, as is the fit. Tang marked ‘38’Scabbard body in original condition no dents or scratch’s, very, very slight signs of wear to the front above the centre. Throat fitting in original condition no marks with original screws, fits tight against cross-guard. Swastika centre band in fantastic condition, with no marks or dents and original after market blackening by the officer. Chape in great condition with only small dents to the front and rear, original screws. Finial perfectly oval in circumference with small dent to the undersideType II chain in fantastic original sharp / crisp detailed condition with original after market blackening by the officer, some Tunic rub marks to second scull & cross bone. Teeth still visible on remaining two, clasp spring still strong and in full working order.
