A blanc de Chine water dropper from the Dehua kilns in Fujian Province, dating from the Kangxi period. The dropper is modelled as a woman holding a whisk standing next to a peacock, and with a plant growing in a low bowl in front. The hexagonal base has each face decorated with sketchily-drawn birds and animals. The base is hollow and there are two holes to allow it to function as a water dropper, with one hole having a small pointed lip next to it. Height 10.8 cm (4.2”)
