    chinese blanc de chine water dropper, kangxi

    A blanc de Chine water dropper from the Dehua kilns in Fujian Province, dating from the Kangxi period. The dropper is modelled as a woman holding a whisk standing next to a peacock, and with a plant growing in a low bowl in front. The hexagonal base has each face decorated with sketchily-drawn birds and animals. The base is hollow and there are two holes to allow it to function as a water dropper, with one hole having a small pointed lip next to it. Height 10.8 cm (4.2”)

    Condition:
     
    Excellent, undamaged condition with no chips, cracks or restoration. There is a small firing flaw at the back of the figure, and another in the back of the hair. Please see the images.
