Circa 1900, neat sized brass bound camphor wood campaign/travelling box. There is a small brass insert in the centre which hasn’t been engraved, brass strapping on the 4 corners, and a flush lifting handle at the front above a stylish escutcheon which houses the lock on the inside. There are 2 lifting handles left and right. Inside the box there is a strap to hold the lid in position and an uninterrupted space. Again there are quarter shaped oval brackets at each of the corners of the base on the front and back and the whole piece stands on a slightly raised piece of camphor wood. Mellow in colour, clean and stylish.

Georgian Antiques was founded in 1978 by John Dixon's brother Padriac in a small shop at Jocks Lodge, Meadowbank in Edinburgh, with John joining the business after finishing college in 1981. The business grew so rapidly, they couldn't keep up with their inventory needs. Their goal has been to create a one-stop-shop where designers can complete an entire project from antique lighting to antique furniture to accessories. Scotland's largest antiques warehouse is located in a converted whiskey bond in historic Leith Edinburgh. With 50,000sq ft over five floors we offer a wide range of quality Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian furniture, as well as continental and small decorative items. Our stock is constantly changing.
